Slowly, resting my body on the soft couch. I didn't know what I was sitting on? My body felt as weak as a pillow. What can I find in the side of the couch I said to myself in my head. Carefully moving my body around there might be something usually sitting down there.

Oh my gosh a big pile of stuff were hiding in the couch. What a disgrace I loudly screamed out. I hope I don't find something more interesting down there. What can I pick up next? The pile of stuff smelt like a sock.

1,2,3 here I go I deeply reached my hands down in the couch. Yuck what is that? My desperate fingers reached down to find something. Really a pen. Everything that I found was not mine. Why!!! My fingers felt like I put them in a muddy puddle. What a neat job.

How To Make a Cool Experience

What you need?

Petri dish

Cold Water

Step 1:

You have to place the m and m's into a petri dish you have to keep still or it will not work well for you.If you do not keep still it will be ruined. If you move then it will change everything. 

Step 2:

Get cold water from a tap and pour it into the petri dish with the m and m's in it. The m and m's just start getting into its colour. It looks like it is just growing fur underneath it.

Step 3:

You are finished. It will look pretty cool after you have finished it. It looks like a rainbow. Try and keep still everybody.It looks amazing when you have finished. Here are some photos.

Report Writing Chimpanzees

     Chimpanzees

Chimpanzees are quadrupedal which means that the walk on all four limbs, although they can also walk upright for short distance.

Habitat: Some chimpanzees are able to move out into quiet aivd areas, such as southwest Tanzania and Senegal. Where they are found in the secondary forests. They live in Open Woods,Bamboo forests, Swamp forests, and even open Savannah.

Appearance: Chimpanzee faces are pinkish and apes bodies are covered with long black hair. Everything but their face is a woolly fur with hair on top of the head projecting sideways.

Diet: Chimpanzees eat fruit and plants, but they also hunt. They eat lizards,frogs and even small monkeys. When chimpanzees are out in the rainforest they eat a wide variety of food that includes nuts,seeds and insect.

Species: There are two different species in the world, the bonobo chimpanzee and the common chimpanzee. There are lot more species of chimpanzees around the world.

Chimpanzees are endangered. People cut down trees in their habitat. If that keeps on happening the chimpanzees will have no place to live in.

Monkeys

Monkeys eat a little amount of food through the day. Monkeys can be divided into two groups. Old world monkeys that live in Africa and Asia, and New World monkeys that live in South America.

Habitat: Monkeys live in Africa,Asia,Mexico,Central America,Zoos and South America. They also live in the rainforest and mostly swing in trees. They always like to live by trees so they can play around all day.

Diet: Different monkey species eat a variety of foods such as fruit,insects,flowers,leaves and reptile. Monkeys eat several meals throughout the day. The primary staple of their diet is commercial monkey chow.

Species: There are more than 260 different species of monkeys including baboons,howler monkeys,spider monkeys,blue monkeys and mandrills.

Appearance: Monkeys are furry animals with long fur that covered tails and hands with thumbs. Monkeys are furry like cats and other different furry animals.

Behaviour: Monkey Worlds go on to explain that non-verbal communication is one of the most important behaviour known to monkeys. Showing emotion through non -verbal communication grooming and social hierarchies and several behaviours that do not vary much between species.

On the top of the endangered species list of monkeys, is the black spider monkey. This monkey is the only endangered monkey on earth. They are endangered because of logging and deforestation. This is destroying their habitat.

Gorillas

Gorillas are the largest living primate. Humans are also primates too. Gorillas are very smart and have been taught to use tools in captivity.

Habitat: Mountain Gorillas live in Rwanda,Uganda, and the Democratic republic of the Congo, in green volcanic mountains. Gorillas cannot survive without forests. They leave the forest when they are looking for food in the open grassland. Gorillas live exclusively in the tropical rainforest of Africa.

Appearance: Adult males are known as (silverbacks) due to the silver coloured hair on their backs. Gorillas appearance can vary based on subspecies but for the most part the western subspecies tend to be brownish gray, color,while the Eastern and Mountain Gorillas tend to have a more blackish coat.

Diet: The eat leaves, berries ,plants, fruits, flowers, shrubs,vines and sometimes small insects. Gorillas mostly eat fruit and sometimes seeds and stems. Western Lowland Gorillas eat a variety of vegetation.

Species: There are three different kinds of species. Western Lowland Gorillas, the Eastern Lowland Gorilla and the Mountain Lowland Gorilla.

Gorillas eat large amounts of vegetation every year. There are many different species of Gorillas around the world. Gorillas spend their day swinging and climbing in the trees of their rainforest home. Extinction is coming for these magnificent creatures if we don’t help them survive by taking care of our environment.

Orangutans

Orangutans are the largest tree living animal in the world. Orangutans can eat over 400  different types of fruits in the world. They mostly, live in the rainforest by themselves or with their children.

Habitat

Orangutans live in Indonesia and Malaysia on the Island of Sumatra and Borneo. These are the only places they live in the Wild. Orangutans mostly live in the rainforests where they normally belong. They mostly swing in trees all day. The perfect habitat for them would be the rainforests so they can swing around all day and play all day. Orangutans habitat is endangered because of human activity. Humans are destroying the forests for palm oil and construction.

Appearance

The Borneo orangutan has a smooth, long red/orange/brown-ish coat but any facial hair. The Sumatran orangutan has a ginger/red-ish coat and a lot of facial hair. The Borneo orangutan have much larger cheek pads called, flanges.

Behaviour

Social behaviour varies between Bornean and Sumatran orangutans. The Sumatran orangutans have access to more fruit and sharing opportunity. Orangutans have to sleep to have good behaviour all the time.                                                                                          

Diet

Orangutans mostly like to eat fruit. Over 400 types of food have been documented as part of the orangutan's diet. These are some of the orangutans favourite foods, Rambutan, Jackfruit, and Durian. They eat many healthy foods everyday.

Orangutans can eat a lot of healthy food each and everyday. Orangutans are very active. Orangutans can be a little bit mean. The Borneo orangutan is different than the Sumatran orangutan. There are different species that live in the same habitat.

Term  2 Inquiry

Sarah, Arati and I have been learning a lot about guitar. Yesterday, we learnt Ukulele with Mrs Hopewell because there were no guitars left. I was really proud of myself and with my team for helping me with a lot of things that I didn't know. We have been collaborating well together by ourselves without any parents watching or teaching us so far. Thanks to Mrs Hopewell and Mrs.T for teaching us some new chords we really loved it. 

 My embarrassing part was when people came out and took pictures of me. It was quite hard to strum because the guitar was to big for my body. I didn't get to learn a song to do in Te Reo because it was the hardest thing to do in front of a lot of people. I got the right chords but I didn't know when to change to the next chord.

The hardest thing for Arati was the strumming but she done quite well. The song didn't sound quite good because it was not tuned up. She need some help to do some things but she got it when we just told her she was a great team member same as Sarah. Sarah knew how to do the things that Mrs Hopewell and Mrs.T taught us because she has been practicing a lot at home. I think she was a good leader because she taught us how to change it at the same time and how to do it right. My fingers were quite sore but a bit funny at the same time I really enjoyed it so much.

I jumped out of the shiny,white car. Mud angrily spits at me as I take a tiny step. Excitedly ambling to the pitch black toilets. I could hear a bunch of people screaming like a car screeching. My sore legs got worse like a person fainting. I screamed as loud as I could when I found the changing rooms. It was challenging to scream out loud I quietly replied back to my mind. It smells damp. Yuck! I finally got changed.

I looked around cautiously. Yay I found Ocean I was so anxious before But when I found Ocean It was all up to her if we should play or not. Why not Ocean replied back to me. Frantically sprinting to the pool nearby to me. My hair flopped up and down furiously like a lion chasing after it's prey. My hands were very wrinkled like a person getting very old. Smoothly touching my back as I calmly swim away.

My brother did a tremendous shout to me. The sun glistened in the clear sky as it moves around in it's own path. Gulp,gulp this is scrumptious I replied back to my sister as she takes a bite into her chewy meat. Yum! That's the best food I have ever eaten.

Lockdown Practice

LOCKDOWN PRACTICE

Wheeo,Wheeo,Wheeo, the bell silently came on. Mrs Hopewell couldn't hear it. My face went as red as a juicy apple. We all thought it was a real lockdown. Rapidly, we all ran down onto the dirty mat. Everybody was frightened. It was really dark it felt like we were sitting in a pitch black cave. My heart was pounding madly. I was scared. What is that sound? I was really anxious when everybody was silent. Jackson was holding the umbrella still. It was really pointy like a shark's tooth. Everybody was very frustrated. We all felt really,really bad. We all rushed up and everybody was all safe. They opened up all the blind in the delicate classroom. The sun shone into our charming classroom. Room 21 was peaceful at the end.

''I'm dying''.  I explained to my beautiful mum. I WANT TO GO TO THE BEACH! I feel like I am going to faint. The sun glistened in my eyes like a paua shell sitting on the shiny sand. Sweat slowly ran down my face like raindrops falling to the hard rocky ground. I explained to my mum can we go. ''Yes she'' said. Finally. 
Zoom off we go to the beach. '' I happily shouted''. I spotted the beach as we were driving yipe! It felt really bumpy when we were cruising. It felt like we were driving on the side of a volcano's side. Bump Bump. We just derived over the last bump. YAY! The car suddenly stopped.
Hot Hot! As I walked on the sand it was burning under my stinky feet. I quickly sprinted to the cold wet sand. Ahhh nice and freezing . I went for a walk and I found a mysterious treasure. It was a giant orange crab. It looked really spiky like a hedgehog. I was going to touch it but I didn't want it to nip me. I was running back happily FINALLY! I'm back.

Dear my beloved family. My life is terrible here. I've been sitting here with mice they have been sleeping with us too. It is horrible here I can't believe it. The noise is so loud here. I'm missing you's I just want to come home. I've been also sleeping with dead soldiers to that have been shot. I did not want to leave when I was living with you's I always see smoke rising up in the air. This is really bad. Some of my friends have been shot I've been lying by them as I think about you's. I haven't eaten for days.

The vicious sky claps and echoes angrily. The mischievous lightning tears open the pitch black sky. The bright lights climb from the clouds. 

The deadly beast jumps out of the ferocious water. 

The volcano spits out hot lava as the rest slides down it's side. The rough water swims fiercely down the stream. 

The old snowy tree slowly falling down onto the hard ground.

Autumn Day

Autumn Day

I tiptoe to the squeaky door. I take my firts step outside. I see water dripping from the tall roof. I carefully walk to the trees I could see colourful leaves dangling down from the rough branches. One feel as I took another step to the leaves. I found a crunchy old leaf lying on the ground. It watches me mysteriously as I walk by. Through the summer the sun makes the leaves more colourful. I quickly picked the leaf up and it was really cozy. I rapidly sprinted inside to show my family. It was very crispy.

At Splashy I drew out of space. It is really colorful and it looks cool when it is 3D. I really like it. My favourite planet that I drew is Saturn. The background is shiny and spotty. It feels really soft as I touch it. It looks beautiful. It looks really bumpy.

Splashy

Vroom Vroom We are off to Splashy I shouted to Emily. I was so excited as Mrs Hopewell loudly called out the people who were going to which car. I was so glad because I was going with Mrs Hopewell. We jumped in the van like frogs. It was to high for Mrs Hopewell. It took for ages to get there. It took 45 minutes to get to Splashy. We passed a lot of places while we were Mrs Hopewell was driving. When we got there we happily drove around the corner. When we slowly walked into Splashy we sat down on a table and there was a plane white tile on each table. Sue talked to us about what the rules are. We started painting when Sue replied Go! It was so fun painting. Everybody was shouting loudly in the colourful room. For my design on my tile I did the planets and out of space. Once we all finished our tiles everyone came to look around to see all of our tiles. Splashy is so fun I explained to Emily. We went out to have lunch and my back was burning hot. Hot! Hot! It felt like I fell into a fire. After lunch we all went inside to look at all of the tiles they were all stacked up on a piece of hardwood. Haylea said goodbye to Sue and she also said thank you. We all left to go back to school. We stopped at the shop and Mrs Hopewell brought us some ice-blocks they were delicious yum yum. We travelled all the way back to school. When we got to school we hopped out of the van. And the lunch bell was going to go in 20 minutes. THAT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!!! 

                




                 

  

                                                         

 WHO AM I?

Hi my name is Waipuna I have 4 brothers and 4 sisters all of them are annoying except one of my sisters. My favourite food is butter chicken and sushi. My favourite sport is netball but I haven't played it before. I want to play it but I do not know. I have 10 people in my family including my Mum and my Dad. I want to learn how to play a guitar because I really wanted to play one.
